Are y’ all ready for the following installment in the no-cook lunch container series? The Hummus Lunch Container is a classic, one that I’ meters sure many of you have made before, however it definitely deserves its own mention within the series because it is flexible and consistently a pleaser. I’ ve obtained a few different ways you can eat or even serve this lunch box the following, so even if you’ ve produced this before, make sure to go look into the alternate ideas!
What’ s in the Hummus Lunchtime Box:
Hummus (of course), kalamata olives, cucumber, grape tomatoes, and pita bread. I really like this lunch box because of its simpleness, it requires so little prep, and I much like “ snacky” finger foods. The only real prep work I had to do had been slicing the cucumber and depleting the jar of olives! With regard to convenience, and because ALDI has extremely inexpensive hummus, I used shop bought hummus this time. But if you would like to make your own hummus or wish to experiment with different hummus flavors, attempt my home made hummus recipe (four flavors) .
As I mentioned within intro, there are a few different ways you can consume this lunch box. The obvious method is to eat it in a “ snacky” fashion, eating a little of this particular, a little of that, etc . But listed here are couple other options:
- Make it into a pita sandwich. Rather than cutting the pita bread straight into triangles like in my photos, depart your pita cut in half, when you sit down for lunch smear the hummus inside, add some cucumber slices, olives, and tomatoes, plus eat it like a sandwich!
- Make it into a salad. Package a separate bowl of mixed greens, when you sit down to lunch, include the vegetables and hummus on the top and eat it as a huge sandwich! You might also want to some outfitting on the side (I suggest a vinaigrette, like Greek dressing, Italian, or even Caesar dressing).
Alternate Ingredient Suggestions
Just like all the no-cook lunch boxes in this series, this particular hummus lunch box is very versatile. If you don’ t like a few of the ingredients I included in mine, below are a few other ideas:
- Pita chips or pretzel veggies in place of the pita bread
- Feta cheese cubes
- Marinated whitened beans
- Oatmeal or carrot sticks
- Bell peppers
- Sliced up grilled chicken
How Long Does the Lunch time Box Keep?
This particular lunch box holds up very well in order to refrigeration, so it will probably keep regarding 5 days in the refrigerator, according to the freshness of your ingredients when the containers are made and the conditions inside your fridge.

Slice the particular cucumber and cut the pita bread into triangles.
