The best sauce calls for only three (3) ingredients:

  • Japanese soy sauce
  • Mirin
  • Sugar

For the soy sauce, I recommend Japanese brands, such as Kikkoman and San-J soy sauce.

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce , low sodium preferred
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
