Y’ all. I am SO ready for jacket weather and cozy slow cooker soups! To kick the season off, We made this super simple Slower Cooker Hamburger Stew this week. It’ s nothing fancy, it’ h just simple, good, comforting foods! I love the simplicity of this meal and the flexibility. It’ s an ideal thing to have simmering away in the weekend as you do your tasks or relax and enjoy watching the particular changing of the seasons.: )
Hamburger stew is very similar to conventional beef stew, but it’ ersus made with ground beef instead of stew meat. Using ground beef is bit less expensive than using stew meat, and I like how you obtain a little bit of beef in every bite!
In addition to the beef we now have a medley of fresh vegetables (carrots, onions, potatoes, peas), beef broth, herbs and spices, plus a small Worcestershire sauce and soy spices to zhuzh it up a bit. It’ s extremely simple, but creates that superbly subtle slow stewed flavor.
For this Burger Stew I browned the ground meat in a skillet before adding this to the slow cooker. I did this particular for two reasons. One, to provide off some of the fat. I utilized 15% fat ground beef plus there was quite a bit that needed to be exhausted away (I actually tested this particular recipe once without draining the particular fat and it just ended up too oily). Peel plus dice 2 lbs. of taters into 1-inch pieces. Peel plus slice ½ lb. carrots (about 4 carrots). Dice one red onion and mince two cloves associated with garlic.
